Montreal police say a man in his 20s was the target of a murder attempt late Tuesday in Rivière-des-Prairies.
The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Élie Beauregard Ave.
As the man stood next to a parked car, a shot was fired from a passing vehicle carrying four men that then sped away.
Police tracked down the vehicle a few kilometres away at Maurice-Duplessis Blvd. and the Highway 25 service road.
Police arrested two 18-year-olds and two 20-year-olds and seized a firearm.
The four — all Montreal residents — appeared before a judge at the Montreal courthouse Wednesday afternoon.
They are: Christopher Jean Baptiste and David Mentor, 18; and Kevin Prudent and Dimitri Fleurinord, 20.
They were charged with attempted murder of “diverse persons,” being in possession of a firearm that was not registered in their names and having intentionally discharged a firearm without concern for the life and security of others.
The charges do not name the intended victim.
