A Dorval resident made a brief appearance before a Quebec Court judge at the Montreal courthouse on Thursday where he was charged with the attempted murder of a 52-year-old man who was stabbed Monday night.

Christopher Mckenzie, 46, faces two charges in the case. He is accused of the attempted murder of Paul William Nagy, a man who was stabbed inside a car parked near a strip mall on Herron Rd. just before 10 p.m. that night. According to the Montreal police, the victim was stabbed following an argument. He was able to exit the vehicle and went inside a nearby building where he sought help. Someone called 911 and Nagy was taken to a hospital where he was reported to be in stable condition on Tuesday. The Montreal police also said at the time that the victim was able to identify his attacker but they did not elaborate on a possible motive for the attack.

Mckenzie was also charged with aggravated assault in the same case. According to information contained on the charge sheet, Mckenzie resides at an apartment building across the street from the parking lot where the victim was stabbed.

Mckenzie is scheduled to have a bail hearing on Friday.
